Custom Vehicle License Plate Frame

This print can be used to delete the dealership advertising that typically accompanies a vehicle license plate cover or frame. It can be used by you to be more fanciful in customizing your vehicle.

There is assembly required. Though not required superglue will benefit the end product and tapering the opening on the holes will ease the assembly.

The print is designed to fit within a 256x256 build volume. There are four primary parts. Two sides being the shorter "U" shapes parts and two other longer parts for the top and bottom of the license plate frame. The parts are angled on the print plate to use as much liner distance as possible in the build volume.

The sides are identical. There are two types of top/bottom parts. Version A does not have any holes within it while version B version has two holes. These holes are for mounting a plaque. These are on plate 01 and 02. Version B can also be used with plaque B assembled on the reverse to create a catch to hold the license plate in when only attaching it to your vehicle using the top two elongated holes.

There are two plates for you to use in designing your own plaque mounting a saying or emblem.

Plaque A has two pins and then a rectangle flat bar with two holes. Import your own model for an emblem or a saying and layer it on top of the flat bar. Ensure you do not plug the holes. Print as desired. Use the two pins and insert them in the version B part of the frame. Take the plaque you have printed and using the two holes place on top of the two pins you inserted in the frame. You may have to slightly taper the pins or enlarge the edge of the holes to be able to get hem to register on the pins. Add a drop of superglue and tap down gently with a hammer.

Plaque B has two pins already affixed to the flat bar. You can use the Slicer emboss tool to create a saying You may then use the coloring/paint tools to use a distinct color for emphasis. This plague B can also be used to lock in the license plate when attached in reverse.

Sufficient room is designed into the assembly to hold both the license plate and a thin clear plate cover. You will have to source the clear cover separately. I used a 1mm thick face shield trimmed to fit.

Note: Ignoring customization this print will take around 5 hours to print the three plates. (S1 printer) .
