💧 How to Fill the Cooling Chamber
You can use the FrostGrip Chiller in two ways:
1. 💧 Plain Water
The fastest and simplest method.
Fill the cooling chamber with water without any special preparation.
2. ❄️ DIY Cooling Gel – Recommended
For longer-lasting cooling performance, you can prepare a simple ice-pack style cooling gel.
Thanks to its thicker consistency, the gel stays cold for longer and helps reduce the risk of leaks.
🧪 Recipe for approximately 300 ml of water
- 💧 300 ml of lukewarm water
- 🧂 1 generous teaspoon of salt
- 🥣 1/2 generous teaspoon of guar gum
🔄 Preparation
- Add the salt to the water and stir until completely dissolved.
- Slowly add the guar gum.
- Mix vigorously to prevent lumps from forming.
- Continue mixing until you obtain a smooth, uniform gel.
⚠️ IMPORTANT – Golden Rule for the Freezer!
NEVER FILL THE COOLING CHAMBER TO THE BRIM!
Fill the cooling chamber to approximately 85–90% of its capacity and always leave 10–15% empty space (air gap) before closing the cap.
When frozen, water and cooling gel expand in volume.
If the chamber is filled to 100%, the expansion of the frozen liquid can create significant pressure against the walls and damage or crack the 3D-printed component.
Leaving an air gap gives the liquid enough room to expand safely.
