Description

This is a simple game i've designed, its easy to play and great fun.

Printing

Print one set of each plate for a 2 player game, for 3 or more players print additional tiles and catch boxes.

How to play

  • Mix all the tiles up and place them into three or four stacks face down with the hooked logo face up.
  • Place the main game board down and attach the spinner
  • Give each player a catch box, the catch box has 10 slots

  • Starting with the youngest player the player draws a tile from one of the piles and reveals it.
  • If it is a fish tile they place it into the number slot corresponding to the number on the fish tile, the higher the number the harder it will be to reel in the fish
  • If its a special tile (bait or lure) then they place it by their catch box and can play it in later turns, they skip the remainder of their turn when they draw a special tile unless they were using a lure tile to draw two tiles and chose to take a fish tile (in which case they would discard the lure)
  • With the fish in place the goal is to generate enough green spins to move the tile into your catch zone.
  • Spin the dial, if the number is green, move the fish that many slots closer to the catch zone.
  • If the number is red move it towards the lost slot that number of slots.
  • If the fish reaches the catch box you catch the fish, you can decide to either add the fish to your catch box or discard it into the discard pile (a pile of tiles kept separately, you may wish to do that with low value fish).
  • If the fish reaches the lost box it is lost and moved to the discard pile.
  • Play moves to the next player.

  • The game ends when one player has filled all of their catch slots with fish icons, they gain a bonus 2 pts for filling the box first.
  • Total all the stars on each players fish, adding in the 2 bonus pts for the first to finish their catch box, and add 1 pt for each unused bait or lure tile a player holds.
  • The player with the highest score wins.

  • Their are two special tiles, a bait and lure tile, these tiles when found are kept by your catch box and discarded into the discard pile on use.
  • The bait tile allows you to respin one spin during your turn, taking the new result and discard the bait tile.
  • The lure tile is used before you draw a tile, you instead draw two tiles, choosing one tile and returning the other to the discard pile.

  • If you run out of tiles in the stacks to draw from then shuffle all the discarded tiles and form new stacks with those tiles.
