Description
Inspired by mathematician Roger Penrose, I’ve been playing around with tessellations — repeating geometric patterns that fit together to create some seriously satisfying visuals.
But obviously, repeating patterns weren’t enough… so I made them 3D. You can thank me later.
I ended up with this cube-like optical pattern and decided it was far too visually appealing not to turn into a drinks coaster.
There are two versions:
♦️ A completely flat version
♦️ A raised version where the diamond sections pop out — which looks especially good printed in silk filament!
A little bit of maths, a little bit of optical illusion, and a completely unnecessary excuse to make your drink look more sophisticated.
